It’s coming up to that time of year again! When everyone starts tweeting and posting statuses with the infamous proclamation “New Year, New me” and whilst we can poke fun at this, most of us do feel a sense of improving ourselves as the new year sets in.
Many people never achieve their New Years Resolution, it’s a known fact by now but I’ve got some tips for you to help you make your year one to remember:
Set 3 main goals
Goal setting is a great way to keep you motivated and on track. Sticking to 3 goals rather than a list of random resolutions will help you stay more focused on what’s most important. Make them challenging but realistic. Something like getting a new job, joining a running club or learning to play an instrument.
Make a Plan
The problem is we set these goals with no real plan of how we’re going to achieve them. So it’s time to start planning how you’re going to achieve these things. For example, if you want to get a new job, figure out what it is you need to do to get it and plan out the next few months.
Be prepared for change
Life is constantly changing. You might start off the year single and working an office job but by the end of it you could be backpacking around the world with that guy you accidentally spilled your coffee on at Starbucks. Things change so be prepared that the goals you start the year with may completely change too.
Set Mini Goals
Because life is ever changing, try setting mini goals. Set a new goal maybe every month or every week. What makes us feel happy and fulfilled constantly changes too, so maybe right now you want to get a promotion at work but maybe a few months down the line you find yourself itching to start your own business. Mini goals allow you room to grow as a person.
And those are all of my tips! Have an amazing year!
